Muhammad’s experience as an event host leads him to create an app that helps people promote their events if there host and gives more power to attendees through the use of ratings, stories, and more. Muhammad found a technical co-founder and began working on this new project. They built an MVP before closing doors due to a bad team fit. However, before shutting down Rooftop hit all of the milestones. Including hosting an event for A$AP Illz, an A$AP Mob producer.
Eventually, Muhammad Began to work on other projects while still being a student at UNIS. He made some new friends that were into Art, Music, Film, and many other artistic ventures. This intrigued Muhammad and he decided to get involved. They began by making a music video for a friend who had garnered a large number of listens to his Soundcloud song. That project went really well which lead to Muhammad hosting the very first event for this newly founded company/collective New York Lab. Our first event was on Dec 28th, 2018, and had over 500 attendees. You can watch the event recap video below. After this Muhammad went on to host dozens of successful and some unsuccessful events with New York Lab. Which lead to the eventual transformation of New York Lab into a record label. We inked a distribution deal for four artists valued at over $500K.
